2. Your Sports House

2.1 How are the Sports Houses formed?

Employees are placed into five Sports Houses, with each House bringing together colleagues from different departments.

2.2 What does my Sports House represent?

Each Sports House champions one of CIMB's EPICC values and has its own House identity, colour, flag and symbol, while all five Houses remain united by one common purpose.

2.3 What does the House Leader do?

Each House appoints a House Leader to guide strategy and participation as the team plans, signs up for activities and works together throughout the programme.

3. Build Your Lead

3.1 What are the pre-event challenges?

The pre-event phase has two key components: the Strava Move Challenge, where Houses build distance through walking, running and cycling, and the Sports Quizzes, where correct answers contribute towards each House's quiz score.

3.2 How can my House earn House Points before Sports Day?

Houses can earn House Points through the Strava Move Challenge and Sports Quizzes, helping to build momentum and strengthen their position ahead of the Grand Finale.

4. Strava Move Challenge

4.1 What activities count towards the Strava Move Challenge?

Walking, running and cycling recorded during the challenge period can contribute towards your House total. You can take part anytime, anywhere and at your own pace.

4.2 How do I make sure my Strava activity counts?

Join the correct House Strava Club and set your activity to be viewable by Everyone. Activities set to Followers Only or Private will not count towards the Club total.

4.3 Is there a limit to how often or how far I can take part?

No. There is no limit to how often you participate or how far you walk, run or cycle during the challenge period.

4.4 Are walking, running and cycling weighted equally?

No. The current scoring is weighted Walking 50%, Running 30% and Cycling 20%. Houses are ranked within each category, with the category results contributing to the House Points earned from the challenge.

4.5 Will individual Strava results appear on the CIMB Leaderboard?

No individual results are collected for the CIMB challenge Leaderboard. Only House-level totals are tracked.

4.6 Can I track indoor activities on Strava?

Yes. Indoor activities such as treadmill walking or running can be recorded and must be synced to Strava using a compatible wearable device or fitness app. Please note that the Strava mobile app alone uses GPS to track distance, so it will not be able to accurately measure distance when you are moving indoors.

4.7 Can I record the distance clocked when I run or walk on a treadmill?

Yes. Use a compatible wearable device, such as an Apple Watch or Garmin, that supports indoor activity tracking and is synced to Strava. The wearable device can record your treadmill distance without relying on GPS, and the activity can then be uploaded to Strava. Distance accuracy will depend on the device used.

4.8 Why is my distance not showing in my House Strava group?

Check that your activity is set to “Everyone” and that you have recorded it under the correct activity type for your House group. For example, a running activity should be recorded as a Run and submitted to the relevant running group.

5. Sports Quizzes

5.1 How are the Sports Quizzes run?

The Sports Quizzes are multiple-choice quizzes administered through Microsoft Forms and distributed through internal CIMB communications. Each quiz is available only for its stipulated duration.

5.2 Can I submit a Sports Quiz more than once?

No. Each staff member may participate once per quiz, with participation verified through their CIMB email address or Staff ID.

5.3 How are the Sports Quizzes scored?

Every correct answer earns one quiz point. Scores are combined across all participants in each House, and the Houses are ranked for that quiz. House Points are awarded 100 / 80 / 60 / 40 / 20 from first to fifth place.

5.4 What happens when a quiz closes?

Each quiz is available only for its stipulated duration, and the next quiz is rolled out after the previous one closes.

6. Leaderboard & House Points

6.1 When does House Points tracking begin?

House Points tracking begins as the competitions kick off, with the Leaderboard going live as part of the House Draft & Kick-Off phase.

7.1 When is the Grand Finale?

The current event plan is for 17 November 2026, from 6.00pm, with a programme of up to three hours.

The Grand Finale brings the five Houses together for the Opening Ceremony and House March-In, Mega House Relay, and Awards & Recognition.
